I was a little nervous before the party because Payton has been teething with her molars & yesterday she pretty much just cried all day & did not want to be put down! But, as soon as our guests started arriving she got more & more excited. It was so cute to watch her! She couldn't really figure out why so many people were at our house! We had about 20 people over- close family & friends. We decorated using pink & yellow flowers (because Payton absolutely loves outdoor stuff & flowers!) We did supper & cupcakes outside on our deck & all the kiddos loved being out. We were sooo blessed with a beautful day in the 80s without much humidity!!! Rare for Missouri this time of the year. Payton wasn't too sure about the cake, but at least she didn't cry when everyone sang happy bday to her! She was like, "what are you guys doing??!"ha. It was funny too because as soon as her hands got covered in icing & cake she frantically tried to "shake" it all off! But, all in all it was a pretty disaster free cake experience.
She got so many wonderful gifts & we were blessed by all of our family & friends who showed up to honor Payton Emma's very 1st Birthday! Thank you all for making it so special for us! Now, we can't wait to celebrate with more family in Austin!
